Agreement

By using AmIThat? (“the Service”), operated by Etherstep LLC (Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least the age required by applicable law to use this Service (e.g., 13 in the U.S., 16 in parts of the EU). By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement.

Not medical advice

AmIThat? is a self-reflection tool. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. It is not a clinical assessment or substitute for professional mental health care. Nothing on this Service constitutes medical, psychiatric, psychological, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

No emergency use

The Service is not intended for use in emergencies. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis line immediately.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit content that is illegal, harmful to others, or violates anyone’s rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service or its APIs
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any person
  • Create accounts for automated or fraudulent purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure

Your content

You retain ownership of any text you enter. By submitting text, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service (i.e., send it to OpenAI and return the result to you). We do not claim ownership of your inputs or reflections.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide a valid email address. You may not share your account with others. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

AI-generated content

Reflections are generated by an AI model (OpenAI GPT-4o). AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not applicable to your situation. You should not rely on AI-generated reflections for medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other important decisions.

Service availability

We provide the Service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The Service is an evolving product and may contain errors or limitations. We make no guarantees of uptime or uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Etherstep is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation, reliance on AI-generated content.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Etherstep from any claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
